Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 06 November 2012: In the presence of H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of UAE Environment and Water, Forbes Middle East magazine, in partnership with Al-Futtaim Motors - Lexus, hosted a special event to celebrate the success of The Top Management Executives and CEOs in the Arab World. 

H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahadand Dr. Nasser Al Tayyar, President of "Arab Publisher House", honored those outstanding companies. The event was attended by elite CEOs andhigh net-worth individuals, government representatives, the leaders of the Arab business worldanda large number of media representatives.

Forbes Middle East also recognized the overwhelming value of the contributions of family and privately-owned businesses to economies and societies alike.  So in addition to honoring the achievement of the Middle East's top listed companies' Management Executives, 4 very special awards were handed out.  The first category is entitled 'Most Powerful Arab Business women in listed companies' and went to Her Excellency Fatima Al Jaber. COO, Al Jaber Group. The 2nd special award is entitled the 'Most influential Arab woman in family business' & the award went to Mrs. Raja Easa Al - Gurg, Managing Director of the EasaSaleh Al Gurg Group. The 3rd special awardwent to the 'Most influential Asian Business leader in the MENA Region'; Mr. Yusuff Ali M.A, Managing Director, EMKE/LULU Group. The 4th and last special award for the Most Powerful Holding Group CEO in the Arab World went to Engineer Abdul Aziz Al Aboudi, CEO of Mohammed Abdul Aziz Al-Rajhi& Sons Holding Group Co.

In order to create an accurate and representative ranking, the Forbes Middle East team analyzed the annual financial statements of listed companies for the period 2007-2011. Data covering this five-year period provided an accurate indicator of sustained success throughout this testing period.

The study covered 324 companies listed on the stock markets of KSA, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan. The companies included in this ranking were categorised into 11 sectors as follows:

Banking, Services, Financial Services, Petrochemicals, Insurance, Retail, Real Estate & Construction, Energy, Industrial, Telecommunications, and Food Manufacturing.
