Within the continuous cooperation between Raya Integration (Tritech), one of Raya Holding companies pioneering in IT solutions, and the Commercial International Bank (CIB), one of the most successful Financial Institutions in Egypt and a pioneer in introducing unique services to its clients, Raya Integration, using the latest technology in banking services, implemented a full automation solution for CIB, which is considered the first of a kind in Egypt using Middleware technology.

In line with CIB high quality standards, it had decided to automate its operations to increase the productivity of its work cycle, and maintain its pioneering status in offering value added services to its clients according to highest international quality levels.

This project represents a considerable progress in the Egyptian Government's initiative to introduce modern technology solutions to business in Egypt. Middleware technology facilitates a swift and secure exchange of information through operating and connecting various electronic channels using different protocols. That includes Interactive Voice Response (IVR), SMS, WAP, and Intranet. For example, this pioneering technology enables customers to inquire about their bank account status using an SMS from their mobile phones; Middleware applications work to extract the information needed from bank records and reply back in seconds via SMS.

According to Ibrahim Sarhan, Raya Integration was awarded the CIB automation contract following vigorous competition from numerous international companies. He added that according to the daily volume of trading in CIB, and its orientation towards facilitating client operations, Raya Integration has tailored and implemented a unique individualized solution for a new system in the bank. The full operation required many separate solutions, each with a complete separate system and a substantial budget, Raya Integration has instead put the Middleware technology to good use as it connects and synchronizes among the various solutions under one program swiftly and securely. This new technology also facilitates adding new interactive communication channels in the future without needing to start from scratch.

CIB has chosen three channels to start with: IVR, SMS, and WAP, thus enabling customers to inquire about account status, credit card accounts, internal transfers, exchange rates, time deposit interest rates, and even ordering a check book, all electronically and remotely.

Raya Integration has offered the technical and management support, through its strong alliances with international companies. It has used Brokat Server technology from Encorus, and Periphonics from Nortel. That's in addition to continuous support from Raya Software, Raya Integration's sister company within Raya Holding's Group of Companies, which has offered the SMS solution. The entire turnkey project was delivered to CIB within a record timeframe. Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Chairman of CIB stated that: "CIB strongly believes in the importance of utilizing the latest technologies through cooperation with specialized companies, thus facilitating continuous Raya Integration have completed and delivered a high-quality project very efficiently and professionally".

Recently, Medhat Khalil, Chairman and CEO of Raya Holding said: "We're very proud of executing such a complex project requiring state-of-the-art technologies operating smoothly with the bank's existing systems. We're happy to be of assistance to the CIB, one of the leading private sector banks, to achieve and even surpass the requirements of its elite customers".
