Eversheds' International Arbitration Group (IAG), which includes Eversheds offices in the UAE and Middle East, has been ranked within the Top 20 firms in Global Arbitration Review's elite 'GAR 30', which lists the most active arbitration practices worldwide.

Eversheds, which has offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, in addition to a wider presence across the Middle East including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, has witnessed a growing caseload, including commercial and investment arbitration, as well as State-to-State disputes. The GAR30 is primarily based on the number of merits hearings in which each firm has participated.

A recent highlight was the team's successful representation of Peru in its maritime boundary dispute with Chile before the International Court of Justice.

Nayiri Boghossian, Partner and Head of Litigation in the Middle East and the UAE, said: "The Middle East forms a core market for Eversheds, and we are delighted that our offices across the globe have been recognised by the Global Arbitration Review (GAR). Having been long acknowledged for our market-leading public international law practice, our focus in recent years has been very much on equally strengthening our commercial and investment arbitration offering, and we have seen significant success in this regard. What is particularly pleasing is how much cross-office arbitration work there is now going on between our various teams around the firm worldwide. Looking at our pipeline of work for the year ahead, our sense is that the IAG is well placed to go from strength to strength".

The GAR 30 was announced at a formal awards dinner in Paris, attended by world-leading figures in the international arbitration community. The evening also featured the presentation of a lifetime achievement award to the leading Egyptian arbitrator, Ahmed El-Kosheri.
