Dubai, UAE; 24 February 2014: Emirates Investment Bank, a client-focused, independent private and investment banking boutique headquartered in Dubai, announces today a number of senior appointments as part of its continued expansion as well as its efforts to add further executive management expertise. Gaurav Agarwal joins as Chief Finance Officer and Biswajit Dasgupta as Chief Investment Officer - Treasury. Both gentlemen form part of Emirates Investment Bank's Executive Committee.
As Chief Finance Officer, Gaurav Agarwal will be responsible for leading Emirates Investment Bank's finance, operations and IT departments. Mr Agarwal joins the Bank having acted as Chief Financial Officer of Tamweel PJSC in Dubai, where he played a key role in establishing and growing the business. He brings with him over 18 years of experience in corporate finance, funding, banking, risk management and general management areas in the UAE and abroad.
Building on his 24 years of regional and international experience in foreign exchange, money markets, fixed income and equities, Biswajit Dasgupta joins Emirates investment Bank as Chief Investment Officer - Treasury, to oversee the Bank's proprietary investments. Prior to this, Mr Dasgupta held a number of senior positions in Treasury departments at various financial institutions in the region, including Invest AD and Dubai Bank in the UAE, Al Khalij Commercial Bank in Qatar and ABN Amro.

Biswajit Dasgupta
Chief Investment Officer, Treasury
Biswajit Dasgupta is Chief Investment Officer - Treasury, at Emirates Investment Bank, overseeing the bank's proprietary investments. He brings over 24 years of regional and international experience in foreign exchange, money markets, fixed income and equities.
Before joining Emirates Investment Bank, Biswajit acted as Executive Director - Treasury at Invest AD where he led its treasury and capital market activities. He also held a number of senior positions in Treasury departments at various financial institutions in the region, including Al Khalij Commercial Bank in Doha, Qatar, where he set up its Treasury and Debt Capital Markets business and laid the foundations for the Islamic banking business. He also led Treasury and Institutional Banking, and Corporate Banking departments at Dubai Bank. During his career, Biswajit spent ten years with ABN AMRO, where his last assignment was as Country Treasurer Kenya.
Biswajit is a Chartered Accountant qualified from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and holds a BA in Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi, India. He also attended several training courses in US, UK and Europe covering Asset and Liability Management, Derivatives, Investments and Financial Risk Management.

Gaurav Agarwal is the Chief Finance Officer of Emirates Investment Bank, where he leads the finance, operations and IT departments. He has over 18 years' experience in corporate finance, funding, banking, risk management and general management areas in the UAE and abroad.
Prior to joining Emirates Investment Bank, Gaurav was Chief Financial Officer of Tamweel PJSC, where he joined in the founding years in 2005 and enabled the growth of the company to become the largest mortgage finance provider in the UAE. Before Tamweel, Gaurav was Senior Manager in Transaction Advisory Services with Ernst & Young, Dubai, and advised clients on corporate finance and business.
Gaurav holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD, France, and an MBA from Kurukshetra University, India. He is also an ICWAI, Associate of Cost and Works Accountant from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountant of India, and holds the CFA charter from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India.
