Dubai, UAE; February 6, 2012: Emirates Gas (EMGAS), a wholly owned subsidiary of ENOC, the Dubai government-owned diversified energy group, recently conducted an LPG Safety & Awareness training programme for students from Dubai Women's College (DWC), a Higher Colleges of Technology flagship institution.
Ali Al-Hammadi, Quality Coordinator of EMGAS, presented an overview of Emirates Gas products and services, the basic composition and sources of LPG, its physical and chemical properties, and about its various applications to the participants. He also demonstrated the safe installation of LPG cylinders, valves and regulators, and the basics of the fire triangle and secure ways of handling LPG.
Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director of Gas Marketing at ENOC said: "The safety and awareness training programme organised for the students of Dubai Women's College is part of our corporate social responsibility to strengthen overall safety, while promoting environmentally sound operating practices. We are also committed to help develop the skills of the UAE's future generation. Through the training, we aim to make DWC students familiar with LPG safety and the proper procedures in handling, storage and usage of cylinders."
Emirates Gas has provided similar training programmes for students from a number of schools including Al Ahlia School, Sumaya Bint Al Khayat Ajman Secondary School, Muzaira School and Institute of Applied Technology (IAT). The company has also partnered with UAE University in Al Ain to strengthen research and development on LPG-related products.
