DAMMAM: Power management company Eaton has announced it is now locally manufacturing its B-Line® series steel cable management systems in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, for regional oil and gas, mining, industrial and other construction projects. Local production will help decrease lead time and shipping costs, as well as reduce the risk of shipping damage and delays when compared to ocean freight. The move aims to strengthen Eaton's position as a "single source" manufacturer of cable management solutions for customers in the Middle East, including end users, engineering, procurement and construction firms (EPCs) and commercial contractors.
Eaton's B-Line series cable management systems are produced in the region by local employees reflecting Eaton's commitment to the local economy. With manufacturing facilities centrally located to support regional projects, Eaton can help customers significantly reduce project lead times and increase flexibility to service customers.
"Eaton has a long-standing history of doing business in Saudi Arabia and has contributed to the development of the infrastructure," said Ashraf Yehia, general manager, Eaton's Crouse-Hinds and B-Line Divisions, Middle East. "Our commitment to Saudi Arabia includes the expansion of our local capabilities to ensure Eaton is able to fully meet the power management needs of our customers in the area and the overall drive to build a more diversified economy."
Eaton already supplies a range of B-Line series solutions in Dammam, including aluminum and fiberglass cable ladder and pan tray solutions. The new B-Line series products locally manufactured in the region focus on steel and include Series 1 steel and Metric Cable Ladder (MCL). The Series 1 steel cable ladder features c-shape side rails with 3-,4-,5-, and 6-inch heights and is rated for National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) 12A/B and 8C load classes with Underwriters Laboratories® (UL) and Canadian Standards Association® (CSA) approvals. It is available in pre-galvanized and hot dip galvanized steel and is ideal for commercial and industrial applications.
The MCL steel cable ladder with slotted side rails features the I-Beam shape providing optimal strength and design without increasing the weight of the side rail itself. This includes SDL, HDL, and HPL product lines with 125mm and 150mm side rail height available in galvanized and stainless steel. It features Det Norske Veritas AS (DNV) and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) approvals. Additionally, Eaton's steel strut channel will also be manufactured locally.
