54 Emiratis among graduates

Founder dedicates achievement to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed

October 14, 2008, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Haj Saeed Lootah, the founder of the Dubai Medical and Pharmacy colleges, dedicated the achievement of the 168 graduating students of both colleges to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He also extended congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Dubai Health Authority. Other dignitaries that were present included His Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority and His Excellency Juma Al Majid among other guests.

A combined total of 120 students from the two batches 2007 and 2008, of Dubai Medical College were conferred with the MBBS degree, and 48 students from Dubai Pharmacy College received the B.Pharm degree. This number includes over 54 Emirati graduates. His Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid and Eng. Yahya Lootah, Vice Chairman - CEO of S.S. Lootah Group and Member of the Executive Board of Dubai Medical College and Dubai Pharmacy College, conferred the degrees on the students.

Congratulating the students on their milestone, Haj Saeed Lootah commented, "Health and education are the two pillars of society in any country. We are proud to see that over 54 Emiratis have graduated today among others. Therefore, both Dubai medical College and Dubai Pharmacy College have come full circle towards fulfilling the vision of the nation's Leadership by contributing to health education, serving our community."

The Graduation ceremony, held at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, marks the convocation of the 17th and 18th batches of Dubai Medical College and 12th of Dubai Pharmacy College. Both colleges are exclusively for girls.
