Dubai Racing Provides Exclusive Coverage to Arab and International Channels

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Ahmed Saeed Al Mansouri, CEO of TV & RADIO SECTOR of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), confirmed that preparations have been finalised for its exclusive coverage of the Dubai World Cup 2017, which will take place on Saturday 25 March. Dubai TV, Sama Dubai, Dubai Sports Channel, Dubai One Channel in English and Dubai Radio will broadcast the event with elite correspondents, from television production vehicles and on-site analytical studios. The high-tech equipment used to capture this eagerly awaited sporting event has been upgraded each year to broadcast it worldwide in ever more distinctive ways.

Abdul Rahman Amin, Director of Dubai Racing, reiterated that DMI will provide fans with an enhanced Dubai World Cup experience in 2017. The public appreciates DMI’s continually improving coverage of the event, which includes increasingly comprehensive behind-the-scenes action, interviews with jockeys up to the final stages, reports on racing tactics, and an array of complementary special programs, television ads and breaks.
Amin highlighted that Dubai Racing has been prepared in direct collaboration with the staff and departments at DMI, which will exclusively cover the event with over 150 technical and media professionals, 62 television cameras, 2 choppers, a first-of-its-kind ‘Super Ultra Motion’ 4K camera that shoots 800 frames per second, 3 Cineflex motion cameras, and a myriad of other advanced motion and stabilisation technologies.
All Dubai Racing channels have been upgraded to provide viewers with HD technology and a crystal clear picture. The channels are also equipped to receive viewer calls and bids, and offer a series of special competitions via the corporation’s sites and social media accounts. The aim of introducing these novel technologies, which are upgraded every year, is to cover and broadcast this massive sporting event worldwide in evermore captivating ways. All of these preparations are made at DMI’s news centre, before the teams decamp to Meydan Racecourse to capture the action live on site from the very first race until the DWC closing ceremony.
Amin added that Dubai Racing is the only channel worldwide that will be covering the racing event and broadcasting it in Arabic and English via two outdoor on-site studios. The first is dedicated to providing the Arabic language version, which will be delivered by elite Dubai Racing correspondents including Samah Mounir, Essam Al-Khadri, Abdul Razzaq Mohammadi, Ahmed Al Shehhi, Mohammed al Tamimi, Haitham al-Tai, Sawsan Saad and Hassan Odeh. The Arab world’s foremost horse racing analysts will also appear to shed light on the event, including Faisal Salman, Mohamed Ahmed, Zaid Abu Sheiba, Sultan Hareb, Mohamed Hussein, Essam El Sayed and Abdullah Khalifa. At the second studio, the English language version will be delivered by Laura King, Stephen Monloe, Thomas Henry and Emma Bagzley, along with a network of correspondents based in several locations across the Emirate.
Amin encouraged the public to follow the international championship and enjoy the thrill of watching the world’s leading thoroughbred horses and jockeys competing at the spectacular Meydan Racecourse. He confirmed that numerous Arab, European, East Asian, Australian and Japanese television channels have requested to broadcast the championship. Various American cable and live channels will be relaying the races via Dubai Racing, with 500 correspondents in attendance to provide comprehensive media coverage that reaches the four corners of the earth.
Dubai Racing Channel was established in 2008 and is the sole channel to specialise in horse and camel races, and falconry, in the UAE. The channel reserves the exclusive rights to cover and broadcast horse races in Dubai, England and Ireland, as well as major international races in Japan, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, France, the USA and South Africa. It is also the first sports channel in the Middle East to cover American races, and has produced numerous prominent programs that reflect its ongoing excellence and professionalism.
