United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 15 February, 2011: His Excellency Khalid Al Sheikh Mubarak, Deputy Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Khalifa Hassan Al Drai , Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, signed today, a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) to further strengthen relations between the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and the DHA hospitals and clinics.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior DHA officials including Dr Mohammad Al Olama, CEO of the Hospital Services Sector and Mr Tony Batour Elzoghbi, Director of Governance and Internal Audit.
His Excellency Khalid Al Sheikh Mubarak, Deputy Director General of the DHA said, "The aim of the MoU is to further strengthen cooperation with the Ambulance services. All DHA hospitals and health centres including the Airport medical centre will continue to provide complete assistance to the ambulance personnel to ensure we provide the best possible treatment to patients using this service. Furthermore, when required, DHA will send a team of medical professionals to the accident site. The MoU highlights that the DHA and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services will share medical equipment, medicines and expertise."
The cooperation between the DHA and the Dubai Cooperation for Ambulance Services extends to ensuring a smooth process for receiving and shifting critical patients.
Al Sheikh Mubarak highlighted that providing timely and effective treatment to the patients is of vital importance to the DHA and this MoU will help ensure a smooth process for the same.
In addition to sharing resources, the two authorities will also jointly take part in exhibition and conferences.

The main pillars of service delivery at DHA health facilities are quality, efficiency, patients and staff. It is our aim to maintain and/or improve the quality and efficiency of DHA health services. An important aspect of the service delivery strategy is to focus on patients, their needs and satisfaction as well as as well as attract, retain, nurture and support outstanding staff.
