Bee'ah, The Sharjah Environment Company today announced the appointment of Mr. James McGuire as Director, Operations with immediate effect. Mr. McGuire joins Bee'ah following an 11-year period based in the United Kingdom with environmental services provider Veolia, most recently as Recycling Manager.
Welcoming his appointment, Mr. Samer Kamal, Managing Director of Bee'ah said: "It gives me great pleasure to welcome Mr. McGuire to Bee'ah as Director, Operations. He joins us as we enter an exciting new stage in the build-up of services and operations that will move us closer to our goal of transforming Sharjah into an environmentally-friendly Emirate. This appointment puts in place a cornerstone for our future; Mr. McGuire will put into place, and run, one of the key resources of Bee'ah."
Mr. McGuire's primary responsibility is to oversee the establishment and smooth operation of all Bee'ah facilities.
Mr. McGuire brings with him to Bee'ah enormous experience and expertise. Since 1997 he has been involved in improving the efficiency and quality of recycling activities at some of Europe's largest Material Reclamation Facilities (MRFs). This included helping to establish a fully integrated waste management structure for the UK county of Hampshire; a structure that became used as a case study of successful implementation.
As Site Manager for two MRFs in Hampshire, UK, Mr. McGuire was responsible for ensuring that as much as 100,000 tons of recyclable waste was efficiently processed in a single facility every year. In recent years, his role included increasing emphasis on planning future facilities, creating and instigating best practices, and analyzing and enhancing the efficiency of existing operations.

To be playing a part in making an enormous, positive difference to the environmental well-being of Sharjah and everyone who lives works or visits the Emirate is a great privilege.
