Best practice training programmes given to 15 personnel working at Danzas, UAE
Dubai, October 24, 2007: DHL Exel Supply Chain, a global leader in customised logistics solutions, recently conducted a series of best practice training modules for 15 personnel in the UAE, to further strengthen the delivery of healthcare logistics solutions in the Middle East.
The personnel, comprising management and staff assigned at Danzas AEI Emirates, the UAE arm of DHL, were updated on current standards including Good Distribution Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice, and Good Storage Practice. They were also trained on Quality Systems Regulations and Computer Systems Validation by a team of in-house experts.
Danzas recently completed the reorganisation of its local healthcare site located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, where it has three chambers with an area totaling 1,500 sq m. The chambers provide facilities to store and handle both medical devices and pharmaceuticals, as these products require a temperature controlled environment. To achieve the desired temperature the climate in the chamber is checked by a series of probes whose records are monitored daily ensuring compliance to international standards. The training given to the employees provides them with the skills to understand and operate in this specialist environment.
DHL Exel Supply Chain Technical Director, Mike Meakin, commented: "As DHL grows its healthcare business in the medical devices and pharmaceuticals sector it is essential that we continue to train and develop our people who are directly involved in supporting medical operations so that we can retain our leading position in this specialised sector."
