E-service facilitates faster business transactions
UAE - The Department of Economic Development – Ajman (DED) has taken a major stride in its effort to attract investors and build a business-friendly environment via its online ‘Trade Name Reservation’ portal. The innovative e-service has so far received applications to reserve more than 450 trade names since its launching in the beginning of the second quarter of this year. The state-of-the-art platform serves as a new and modern channel created to support the UAE’s move to adopt a knowledge-driven economy and strengthen Ajman’s business and investment infrastructures.
Saud Al Shammari, Director of DED- Ajman’s Registration Department of Economic and Licenses, said: "The online service reflects our commitment to shift to an automated process and drive continuous service improvement within the Department. It is a true embodiment of our relentless efforts to deliver a unique experience to our investors by offering faster transaction procedures and a shorter turnaround time of seven to 10 minutes.”
Al Shammari added: “The ‘Trade Name Reservation’ platform has so far received applications to reserve more than 450 trade names over a relatively short period of time, which clearly demonstrates our customers’ full confidence in our e-services. Our portfolio of smart offerings is the key to scoring higher on the Ease of Doing Business index. It will also help drive Ajman’s efforts to diversify its economy and achieve sustainable development. The service is a central tool reducing errors by allowing the client to search for the appropriate trade name without any conflict or similarity with any other name within the same business category. It also ensures that the rules and regulations concerning trade names are strictly followed.”
The ‘Trade Name Reservation’ platform allows for reservation of trade names for two months. The reservation process involves three main steps that do not take more than 10 minutes to complete. The first step entails entering essential data, followed by verification that the name is not identical with existing trade names. The last step involves payment of fees, booking the trade name and sending it by email.
