Because the entire engineering documentation - whether for fluid power, electrical, or control systems - is based on continuous flow of extremely high quality data. With EPLAN, there is no need for time-consuming synchronization of control data any longer. For example, the IO assignments for controlling the pneumatic valves are made available to the PLC programmer by directly exporting assignment lists from EPLAN. Changes made by the programmer can be written back immediately and all automatically into the pneumatic schematics. Now, that's mechatronics in action!
New power in a common format
What makes the multi-faceted EPLAN Fluid a more powerful and more flexible solution in fluid engineering today than ever before? For starters, an ingenious change management tool is a certain cause for user enthusiasm. With the new redlining function, users can convert the entire fluid documentation into PDF format and then release it for review and comments. Modifications to the installation information, of course, can be marked up in Acrobat Reader. But best of all, the changes in PDF are then fully automatically written back into EPLAN, effectively closing the loop on fast and perfect machine documentation. EPLAN Fluid sets a new standard with the completely user configurable component structure. And from the very start, users benefit from the pre-configured component structures of the VDMA e-market, which have already been adopted by many fluidic component suppliers.

As a well-established standard system, EPLAN Fluid's platform technology is now also available to fluidic component suppliers as an OEM version. Under the "Powered by EPLAN" motto, users can enjoy the combined benefits of incorporating manufacturer's component data in EPLAN Fluid. The latest successful ex ample of this is the FluidMan software from the component supplier HAWE Hydraulik, which is used for more complex assemblies together with HAWE's high performance TypeGen+ configurator.
Everything on a platform
From fluid power, to electrical, to process, and all the way to mechanical, the EPLAN platform technology covers all engineering disciplines. This means even parts of a component or an assembly can be assigned to a trade. So, for example, in EPLAN Fluid a valve can be assigned to hydraulic, pneumatic, cooling or lubrication trade and the layer management system can be used for additional graphical attributes. With EPLAN, it does not make a difference whether a colleague in the next department, say electrical engineering, speaks the same language or he is even at the same location. EPLAN fosters worldwide collaborative engineering so that users around the globe can simultaneously work on the same project in their own native language using a single, common database.
