Hor Al Anz Children's Library presented a variety of activities on the occasion of the Eid Al Adha and Hajj. The programme called "Haj Rituals" was a comprehensive religious educational programme, which helped the children to have a real feel of the holy pilgrimage, one of the basic pillars of Islam.
Participants came wearing Ihram clothes to the programme, which featured the models of Kaaba, Safa, Marwah and Arafa mountains, area for stone throwing (Al Jamra) and the animal for holy slaughtering (Al Hadiy). Children were familiarized and given guidelines on the rituals of the Hajj day starting from Tawaf (going round the Kaaba), running between Safa and Marwah, going to Mina and return, and from there to Arafa, Muzdalifa, gathering for Aqaba stone throwing, and then the journey to Mina, the big Aqaba stone throwing, and the additional Tawaf. In between the programme, children were told the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
The programme ended with the children witnessing the real slaughtering in the premises of the library to teach them how the holy slaughtering is performed during the Hajj. They were also given the holy Zamzam water for drinking. A contest was also conducted on the occasion, followed by distribution of gifts to the participants.
