Cadillac to Present Second Generation CTS at the 9th Middle East International Motor Show

Dubai, UAE - The much awaited production version of the second generation 2008 Cadillac CTS will celebrate its Middle East debut at the region's largest biennial motor show in November.

Following the footsteps of its predecessor which made its debut in 2002, General Motors premium brand mid-sized saloon reiterates the commitment towards the renaissance with its exciting new styling, superior handling and outstanding performance.

"The new CTS achieves both the serious performance of a sports sedan and the sophisticated poise of a luxury sedan - breaking down the traditional compromise between spirited driving and luxury motoring.  The 2008 CTS is even more desirable to luxury sport sedan buyers", says Melanie Brown Maddux, Marketing Manager for Cadillac in the Middle East.

The new CTS sedan has grown in size and the new dimensions have translated into an exciting exterior and interior design. The "faster" and nearly coupe-like sculpted exterior gives the car a more athletic stance, while some of the remarkable styling cues come from the Cadillac Sixteen concept.

For the interiors, the focus has been occupant-friendliness and high level of fit and finish which combines French stitched leather, wood, carbon fibre or aluminum trim depending on the model option chosen. A "double" sunroof borrows a page from Cadillac's SRX crossover, enabling both front and rear passengers a sky view, while LED mood lighting is another new feature in this car.

GM's new port or direct injection high performance 3.6-litre V6 VVT engine mated to a new Hydra-Matic 6L50 six-speed automatic gearbox, a first for the CTS, will be available in the Middle East.

Cutting edge direct-injection technology helps the normally-aspirated engine to combine extra power and economy together. At 311hp, output from has been enhanced by 15 percent, while torque goes up by 8 percent and cold-start hydrocarbon emissions have been reduced by 25 percent. Meanwhile, the port injection version offers 266hp on tap.

The new CTS promises to reward drivers with its near perfect handling as expected from a sports saloon. Another first for the model is that it will be offered to customers in both rear and all-wheel drive configurations with a choice of three suspension set-ups: luxury FE1, stiffer FE2 and track ready FE3.
