Epicor iScala to Help Company Cut Costs and Streamline Business Processes for Better Return on Investment
Kuwait, August 1, 2004: Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of integrated enterprise software solutions for the midmarket, today announced the Dubai-based regional headquarters of Epicor Scala has been selected to conduct a significant enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation for Arabi Enertech K.S.C. (www.arabienertech.com), part of the highly diversified business conglomerate, Arabi Holding Group K.S.C. (www.arabigroup.com)
Arabi Enertech will implement all modules of the latest version of the iScala Collaborative ERP system including Financial, Logistics, Contracts, Service Management and BI (Business Intelligence) Tools. Beginning the implementation in a modular fashion in August, the Financial and Supply Chain Management module is targeted to go live first in early 2005. Arabi Enertech is also planning to establish a Web reporting framework for traveling managers using the iScala BI Tools, and is considering a PDA connectivity feature for mobile managers.

The company started evaluating different ERP systems in October 2003, and after a diligent screening process selected iScala. "The lower total cost of ownership and the flexibility the iScala enterprise system will bring into the business processes of Arabi Enertech are what finally clinched the deal," said Mr. Rami Kichli, General Manager of Hadeed Internet Technology Services W.L.L., a business partner of Epicor Scala in Kuwait.
Arabi Enertech is qualified with the Central Tenders Committee of various ministries in Kuwait, like the Ministry of Electricity and Water, Health, Defense, Public Works and state-owned companies like the Kuwait National Petroleum Co. (KNPC), Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), among others.
Commenting on the reason for selecting iScala, Mr. Ra'ed AlNemah, Finance and Administration Manager of Arabi Enertech said the whole value proposition put forward by Epicor Scala was an ideal match to the dynamics of the company's business and growth. "We found the functionality of iScala superior compared to other ERP solutions we evaluated. The commitment and quick response of the Epicor Scala team throughout the evaluation cycle, as well as the favorable feedback from site visits, confirmed that iScala was best-of-breed ERP," he said.
Arabi Enertech is an entrenched player in the Kuwaiti market and some of the projects the company has executed include a US$27 million design, supply of materials and construction of flow lines at the oil wells of KOC, a US$23 million engineering, procurement and construction of steam system revamp project (SSRP) at KNPC, a US$10 million construction of new gathering centre at KOC, multi-million dollars electrical maintenance works for Public Authority for Applied and Technical Education etc.
