Californian energy giant Aera signs UK technology firm
Aera Energy LLC, one of California's largest oil and gas producers, has appointed Amor Group to review and enhance the security of its various process control systems.
The deal represents a major breakthrough for the fast-growing UK provider of business technology solutions in the world's eighth largest economy, the state of California. Aera Energy's operations account for approximately 25 per cent of the state's oil and gas production.
The contract has seen Amor Group provide an in depth review of Aera's security policy and procedures through its ProcessSecurity+ offering. The services will be provided by Amor staff based both locally to Aera Energy's headquarters in Bakersfield, California, and at Amor offices in Houston and in Aberdeen.

This deal represents another success for Amor Group in the energy sector. Recently, BIS Salamis, a leading provider of industrial services to clients in the energy, petrochemical, industrial and utilities sectors, appointed Amor Group to manage and provide its IT functions. This was not long after Sparrows, a leading provider of oilfield lifting engineering services, appointed Amor Group to manage the outsourcing of its IT function. Other clients in the energy sector include BP and ConocoPhillips.
