Seminar offered for AUD students and all interested engineers
Dubai - The School of Engineering at the American University in Dubai (AUD) held an Engineering Seminar titled "From PLM to LLM: Similarities in Product Lifecycle Management software and Learning Lifecycle Management". The seminar was offered for AUD students and interested engineers in AUD premises.
"In line with the economic boom the region is witnessing, especially in the industrial sector, the AUD will spare no effort to provide every learning opportunity possible through its schools for the welfare and prosperity of the country", said Dr. Khaled Soudki, Dean of Engineering, AUD.
This seminar is the second event in a series of seminars to be organized by the School of Engineering during the fall 2005 semester.
The seminar offered a definition and explanation of PLM and LLM, explained why companies and academic institutions should pay attention to its benefits, and discussed the similarities between PLM and LLM.
During the seminar, details about the product from a company that is using PLM's lessons-learned to create an effective LLM system was provided.
Examples were also presented to explain industrial and academic applicability of this particular LLM commercial system. The presentation concluded by summarizing the discussions and providing a few research & development ideas on extending the functionality in this area.
Dr. Mohsen Rezayat, Ph.D., the Chief Solutions Architect at UGS and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati-USA, presented the seminar.

About AUD
