International Nasheed Chanter Ahmed Bukhatir hosts concert at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel on behalf of the ADIB

Ahmed Bukhatir performed at the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank's annual reception yesterday to a selected VIP audience in Dubai.  Invited as the special guest performer, Mr. Bukhatir has long been a respected and important voice in the Nasheed world. Nasheed is a form of Islamic gospel where no instrument is used and only the human voice is manipulated to create complex sounds.

The theme for the evening's events was "Thank you for your trust and confidence."   Mr. Bukhatir performed songs in both Arabic and English from his latest album called "Hasanat" which includes songs in both languages. The album reached number 4 on Virgin music charts, outperforming even popular Arab language musicians across the region.

Speaking on behalf his performance, Mr. Bukhatir said: "I am very pleased to have been asked to sing during this reception.  It is an honor to share my music with others."

Mr. Bukhatir began his career in Nasheed singing in 1989, but his first public performance was in 2001 at the Tawun.  He has also competed in similar competitions across the UAE.  In 2004 he performed for the Sharjah Crown Prince.  Among his other performances, members of his audience have included members of the Royal family of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Rashid  Bin Ahmed AlMulla of Um Al Quwian along with the Saudi Haram Imam sheik Abdel Rahman Sudais as well as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.

Mr. Bukhatir has had over 5 best selling albums since 2000.  Most notably Da'ani, produced in 2005, which became a best seller across the UAE and other Arab countries.  In its first year it sold over 150,000 copies with numerous sales in several European countries, including Sweden and France.

Within the last year he has given a series of concerts across the world and his latest performance in Excel Hall in London, United Kingdom hosted over 50,000 fans in attendance.
