New support for Enhanced Flash Technology and online services revolutionise document sharing

Dubai, UAE-- Adobe Systems Incorporated, global software leader, has launched the Adobe® Acrobat® 9 software -  a significant upgrade - that will transform the creating and sharing electric document process. Acrobat 9 delivers significant new functionality, including native support for Adobe Flash® technology; unify a wide range of rich PDF portfolios' content, and real-time capabilities for co-navigating a PDF document.

Subsequently, Adobe has introduced Acrobat.com, a suite of hosted services as public beta, putting communication, productivity and collaboration tools within a web browser. Acrobat.com, like Adobe® Acrobat® software, enables the publishing of high-quality electronic documents allowing individuals to work collaboratively.

A set of online services, Acrobat.com also works with Acrobat 9, giving its users a "personal workspace in the clouds" available from virtually anywhere so they can share files, convert up to five documents to PDF online and participate in electronic forms.

"The ability to break through and communicate a message in a compelling way has never been at a greater premium. Acrobat 9 is poised to fundamentally change how professionals communicate and collaborate using electronic documents," said Jacob Alex, Adobe's Middle East Channel Manager.

For the first time, Acrobat 9 provides deep support for Adobe Flash technology, enabling users to include Flash Player compatible video and application files in PDF documents. Recipients simply need free Adobe Reader® 9 software to consume the content and have static documents come to life as dynamic communications.

Acrobat 9 also unifies a wide range of content into a single document with the new concept of PDF Portfolios - a series of multiple media types, such as documents, video, audio, and even 3D objects, into one, compressed PDF file - resulting to a far more customised and compelling documents.

Additionally, Acrobat 9 users through Acrobat.com can store and share files, use it as a central location for data collection and gather comments in a shared document review. Acrobat.com also uses Adobe AIR® technologies and includes other services, such as Adobe ConnectNow, personal web conferencing that provides desktop sharing, video and voice conferencing and integrated chat. Adobe Buzzword®, an elegant, web-based word processor that can be used to co-author and share documents for review and creation of high-quality print results is also among Acrobat.com's features.

"We are positive that Acrobat 9 will receive tremendous response from the Middle East, the same way when we launched Acrobat 8. With Acrobat 9's enhanced features and its collaboration with Acrobat.com, this software offers convenience for businesses and users."

"With rich Internet applications enabled by Adobe, we can combine desktop and cloud computing to create innovative productivity applications that will change the way we create, store and share documents together, such as Acrobat 9 and Acrobat.com," Alex concluded.

The Acrobat 9 family consists of Acrobat 9 Standard, Acrobat 9 Pro, and the new Acrobat 9 Pro Extended software. The most comprehensive member of the family, Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, includes Adobe Presenter software for easily turning Microsoft® PowerPoint presentation into multimedia experiences that can be published as PDF files.

Acrobat 9 will be available in the Middle East through Adobe Channel Partners. For more information on the Acrobat 9 family, visit www.adobe.com/acrobat. For Acrobat.com sign-up and marketing information, visit www.acrobat.com and www.adobe.com/acom/
