Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 18, 2012 -3M Gulf, a recognized leader in research and development has announced its participation at the World Cardiology Congress 2012 scheduled to be held in Dubai from April 18 - 21, 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
3M's healthcare business unit will be participating at the Cardiology Congress with an impressive stand that will exhibit the highly advanced Littmann® range of stethoscopes which will include 3M™ Littmann® E scope 3200, 3M™ Littmann® New Style Enhancement Range along with 3M™ Littmann® Cardiology III and Master Cardiology range which have been developed specifically for cardiologists. The World Cardiology Congress is being held in Dubai for the first time in the history of this event and over 11,000 delegates have already registered for the Congress.
Commenting on 3M's presence at the World Cardiology Congress, Rita Habash, Sales & Marketing Manager, Medical Division, 3MGulf said, "The World Cardiology Congress is an effective platform to showcase and discuss latest science on treatment and prevention in the realm of cardiology. 3M Healthcare is a global technology leader in auscultation and our latest innovations focused specifically on cardiologists will be presented to the participating delegates and specialists".
The 3M™ Littmann® Master Cardiology range of stethoscopes feature exceptionally handcrafted chestpieces with the portable convenience of a single-side stethoscope. The tunable diaphragm conveniently alternates between low and high frequency sounds with a simple pressure change on the chestpiece. Its dual-lumen design eliminates tube noise artifact from two tubes rubbing together. With a seven-year warranty, practitioners can choose from variety of colors including two beautiful new chestpiece finishes in Brass and Smoke in addition to the classic Black.
In clinical studies compared against non-electronic stethoscopes, 83% of cardiologists indicated that it was easier to detect/hear aS3 gallop, 82% of cardiologists indicated it was easier to detect a grade 1 or 2 aortic regurgitation murmur and 90% of critical care nurses indicated it was easier to detect abnormal lung sounds with the 3M ™ Littmann® stethoscope 3000 series. When using a non-electronic, cardiology-type stethoscope versus this electronic range, cardiologists missed an S3 gallop 40% more often, a Grade 2 aortic regurgitation murmur five times more often and critical care nurses misidentified whether a sound was normal or abnormal two times more often.
In the world of auscultation, where the language is sound, it all comes down to the performance of the diagnostic instrument and the skill of the professional interpreting those sounds. Add technology to the equation and what you get is a far superior auscultation experience that opens up new assessment possibilities and improved diagnostic capabilities. The 3M™ Littmann® Electronic Stethoscope Model 3200 series with cutting-edge Bluetooth® and Ambient Noise Reduction (ANR) technology delivers exceptional auscultation capabilities that are proven to enhance the detection of difficult-to-hear heart, lung and abdominal sounds.
Its state-of-the-art technological features also enhance and simplify the management of auscultation data. Equipped with Bluetooth® technology, the 3200 model allows medical professionals to wirelessly transmit sounds in real-time to a PC for further analysis, as attachments to electronic medical records or for reviewing online with colleagues. This advanced model includes Zargis StethAssit™ sound analysis software which visualizes heart, lung and other body sounds, playback in bell, diaphragm or extended range, display and print as phonocardiogram, and has the capability to save patient information.
The 3M™ Littmann® Electronic Stethoscope range is now available across the GCC and Middle East through authorized 3M distributors. To learn more about the range and all 3M™ Littmann® stethoscopes, visit www.3mgulf.com/littmann
