Mubasher: The President of the United States Donald Trump has signed an executive order to end the policy of separating children from their parents when immigrant families are caught crossing the southern borders illegally or without the required documents.

The decision comes after outrage and criticism on both the local and global levels.

Now, families will be treated together as one unit, meaning that in the case of detention, no separation will take place.

“It’s about keeping families together while at the same time making sure that we have a very powerful, very strong border,” Trump told reporters as he signed the order, as reported by Reuters.

However, the Trump administration is still sticking to its zero tolerance policy in dealing with illegal immigrants.
