TUNIS: On the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the November 7 Change, the national political parties made public declarations in which they voice satisfaction at the avant-garde achievements accomplished in Tunisia, under President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali's leadership, that cover all fields.

Political parties emphasise the development recorded by Tunisia in matters of democracy and pluralism, the climate of security and stability prevailing in the country, deepening of dialogue, reinforcement of the state of law and institutions and consecration of Human Rights.

The Socialist Democrats' Movement (MDS) points out, in this regard, that the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the Change coincides this year with the creation of the Youth Parliament, which testifies to the bet made by Tomorrow's Republic on the Change's generation, as the country celebrates in 2010 the International Year of Youth, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly at the Head of State's initiative.

The Declaration points up the Movement's adherence to the November 7 civilisational project, reasserting its attachment to the person of President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali to carry on the country's reform and national reconciliation process, benefiting of a large popular support and endeavouring to consolidate Tunisia's social cohesion and invulnerability and to guarantee a comprehensive development for all Tunisian men and women.

For its part, the People's Unity Party (PUP) highlighted that the celebration of this national event, which had been an important historical turning point that saved Tunisia and helped it join the group of emerging countries, offers the opportunity to review the country's achievements in the various fields and assert PUP's constant stand and adherence to the process of consolidating the orientations of the Change's project.

PUP affirms, in its declaration, that the celebration by the Tunisian people of the 23rd anniversary of Change is a renewed opportunity to assert President Ben Ali's historical and decisive role in developing the national scene and stimulating progress in the country.

The party reckons that President Ben Ali's continuation to lead the country's progress will ensure consolidation of political life and progress at various levels.

For its part, the Liberal Social Party (PSL) points out that the celebration of this anniversary is an occasion to draw lessons and meanings of the second leading date marking Tunisia's modern history after Independence.

PSL reviews the important achievements accomplished in Tunisia under the President of the Republic's leadership, notably in the political field, helping bolster the democratic process in the country.

PSL reiterates support to President Ben Ali and to his civilisational project, laying emphasis on his historical role as the guarantor of social peace and political stability preservation.

The Green Party for Progress (PVP) affirms its faith in the principles and values advocated by the November 7 Declaration, expressing its entire conviction of the soundness of the national reform and modernisation process led by President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali, President of all Tunisian men and women.

The party points up that the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the Change is a marking event in the history of Tunisia which is readying to step into a very important stage, during which it would renew its pact with the Head of State in order to forge ahead on the path of action and perseverance, reap further achievements and take up the posed challenges.
