Tunis - The Tunisian-British Chamber of Commerce (TBCC) held its extraordinary general assembly, on Monday in Tunis, under chairmanship of outgoing President Mohamed Ben Sedrine.
This assembly was held in the presence of Chairman of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts Hedi Djilani and ambassador of the United Kingdom in Tunis Christopher O'Connor as well as Mr. Mohamed Sakher El Materi, Chairman of the Tunisian- British Friendship Association and President of Princess Holding Group.
The agenda of the assembly included, in particularly, the examination of the Chamber's annual report and the election of the new steering committee and a new president.
Mr. Hedi Djilani emphasised the importance of the Chamber's role in developing economic relations between the two countries. He said the potential of partnership between private sector operators in Tunisia and the United Kingdom remains significant and goes beyond the energy sector.
The ambassador of the United Kingdom underlined that the Tunisian market offers today a real development potential, particularly in the tourism, finance and new technologies sectors and called upon the two countries' businessmen to make the most of them.
This assembly ended with the election of a new steering committee whose President is Mr. Hassine Doghri (CEO of Doghri Group) and 1st Vice-President, Mr. Mohamed Sakher El Materi (President of Princess Holding Group).
