Mahmoud Esmat, the Minister of the Public Enterprise Sector of Egypt, praised the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and Egypt, citing them as an exemplary model.

He made this statement while hosting Abdul Nasser bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), and Khaled Buhumaid, Senior Vice President for Government Relations of the Company, along with Saleh Al Saadi, UAE Deputy Ambassador to Egypt, in Cairo.

The meeting focused on potential investment opportunities in the mineral and chemical industries by companies under Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector. EGA and Egypt Aluminium Company also discussed collaboration opportunities for establishing a new aluminium production facility.

Esmat highlighted Egypt’s recent policies to encourage local and foreign direct investment and support the private sector's growth and contribution to economic activity.

Abdul bin Kalban emphasised the mutual respect and strong ties between the UAE and Egypt, while Al Saadi praised Egypt's strategic geographical location and its role as a key trade hub. He also commended the country's recent infrastructure projects.

Furthermore, the UAE will prioritise comprehensive climate action progress during its hosting of COP28 in November.
