Cairo –  Egypt’s revenue from property tax surged 60.8% year-on-year during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, recording EGP 3.7 billion.

Revenue from tax on buildings jumped to EGP 3.63 billion from July 2018 to the end of March 2019, compared to EGP 2.1 billion during the year-ago period, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

Tax on land generated EGP 73 million in revenue during the nine-month period ended 31 March versus EGP 129 million in the year before.

Egypt’s total revenue reached EGP 598.68 million in the first nine months of FY18/19.
