AMMAN — Demand for the Jordanian dinar and remittances by Jordanian expatriates have doubled since last Thursday, President of the Jordanian Money Exchange Association Abdulsalam Saudi said Sunday.

Speaking to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Saudi said that the local money exchange market has “strongly” gained momentum as thousands of expatriates returned to the Kingdom for Eid Al Adha holiday, voicing hope that the strong demand will continue after the eid.

He also noted that the amount of outgoing transfers is around the annual average of this time of year.
