RIYADH: China's largest communications equipment provider, ZTE is eyeing the Kingdom for a greater share in the security, transportation, health care and education sectors.

The company made a strong pitch for strengthening its presence as the Kingdom's strategic partner at the Government & Enterprise Partnership Conference in Riyadh.

ZTE's proposal was warmly received by the Saudi government, industries and local agents as it would help well-established local channel vendors, agents and integrators, as well as end users in government enterprises, said Richard Zhu, Enterprise & Government Business Director, ZTE (HK) Limited, Saudi Arabia.

ZTE, already a key player in the Saudi telecom market, hopes to leverage its strength through its experience in China's "Smart City" projects focused on providing technology solutions across some strategic sectors to the government in China.

ZTE Saudi Arabia, which has been operating in the Saudi telecom market for over eight years, has established close relations with major Saudi telecom operators and the Saudi government.

Its wireless broadband products, wired broadband core network products, optical transport equipment, data equipment, power supply products and mobile terminals, are widely used in the Kingdom.

ZTE sees this conference as an opportunity to build a platform where the Saudi government, customers from various industries, agency partners and ZTE, can communicate with one another to strengthen multilateral exchange and understanding, enhance mutual trust, and seek greater opportunities for growth and development in the future.

ZTE referred to its experience in the Smart City as an example of its view on the security, transportation, health care and education fields and to share the experience with all the participants. They showed strong interest in the solutions and products and had extensive discussions on them.

As the world's leading provider of integrated telecommunications solutions, ZTE delivers innovative technologies, products and solutions to telecom operators and enterprise customers in more than 160 countries and regions, enabling users around the world to enjoy hassle-free communication via voice, data, multimedia and wireless broadband.

The Chinese company entered the Saudi market in 2004, while its representative office was set up in 2005. Currently, ZTE has over 200 Chinese and foreign employees.
