Zayed University is moving to its new campus in Academic City in Al Rawayah next July.

It will house a special memorial hall for the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, said Dr Hanif Hassan, Zayed University (ZU) Director.

"The memorial hall will be located at the main entrance and includes pictures, books, sayings and some personal belongings of the late Shaikh Zayed," he said.

The ZU Director and several students yesterday planted a tree as a symbol of remembrance of the late president and also inaugurated the Shaikh Zayed Memorial Hall.

It will be a feature of both Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses.

"He will always be a vital part of this university and now we will have a student tribute that lasts a lifetime," he said.

Salam Nimr and Sarah Sultan from Abu Dhabi campus and Nada Khalfan, Fatma Al Saadi and Raida Al Jassmi from Dubai campus came up with the idea.

Raida, a film production student, told Gulf News: "The Dubai memorial hall includes more than 40 pictures of Shaikh Zayed." The halls will have electronic presentations of historic moments in Shaikh Zayed's life.
