Dubai, Dec 5, IRNA

Before recent Geneva nuclear talks both sides moved towards imposed encounters, to no one's benefit, a trend that was halted in Geneva and move towards problem solving began, said Iranian foreign minister in meeting with Iranians in UAE.

"In order to do so we were faced both with hardships and with deficiencies, despite which we took the first step in the talks," said Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday night.

"We got both sides rid of the mounting process of pressure, sanctions, and extremism, under such conditions that both sides were moving towards an inescapable encounter, which was to no one's benefit," he said.

He said that the Islamic Republic cannot trust the big world power because of their bad records, adding, "The Iranian nation has provided an opportunity for the major world powers to take part at a test to gain the (Iranian) nation's trust."

The Iranian top diplomat said that the continuation of this path is even tougher, arguing, "We have entered a field that can eventually be beneficial for the Iranians inside and outside Iran and also for the region, which will be rid of the nightmare of crisis."

He noted that now the path is paved for Iran's return to the world markets; Iran now has the possibility of cooperation, and the economic activists should take the best use of this emerged opportunity.

He said that the world has no way, but to deal with Iran and the Iranians respectfully, adding, "The language of pressure, threats and force does not work in dealing with the Iranians."

Zarif emphasized, "They assume by pursuing nuclear weapons Iran is after acquiring power, having made a mistake about the source of Iran's might, which is not any of the weapons of mass destruction (WMD)."

He said that like the late Imam Khomeini (P) and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the government of prudence and hope, too, believes in the power of the nation, which is why it had no worries by the side of the six world powers and did not read out boring articles there.

"We truly negotiate, because we believe we can defend the nation's rights, and we are also familiar with the moderate dialogue of the genuine Islamic Revolution," he said.

He considered extremism an aftermath of feeling self-depreciation and weakness, reiterating, "If Netanyahu is truly worried about what he calls Iran's access to nuclear weapons, why then is he is also worried about this interaction whose result will be assuring the world that Iran is not after nuclear weapons?"

Zarif who has in this round of his regional tour visited Oman, Qatar, and the UAE and talked with those three countries' highest ranking officials about most important bilateral, regional and international issues, at the end of the meeting answered as many questions as possible in his talks with the cheering crows of the Iranians residing in UAE.

At the end of his tour of three Persian Gulf Arab states on Tuesday, Zarif wrote on his Facebook page that he is ready to meet and consult with Saudi officials any time "the brothers in Saudi Arabia" were ready to hold the meetings.

He underscored that such meetings could serve the interests of the two countries, the region, and the Muslim world.

"The Persian Gulf littoral states have very important role in Iran's security and development and we should not let them get caught in the trap of warmongers and extremists' lies," he added.

The Iranian top diplomat left Dubai for Tehran after this session.
