Damascus, Dec. 19 (SANA)- The deliberations of the training workshop on using the guide book of the environment status maps in the small and medium size establishments were opened on Sunday. The workshop is organized by the Environment and Local Administration Ministry in cooperation with the Sustainable Business Center.
Deputy Environment and Local Administration Ministry Sadeq Abu Watfa stressed the accelerated growth Syria is witnessing in the service and industrial sectors and the establishment of big industrial cities in the governorate. Abu Watfa said that the workshop aims at raising awareness in the field of enhancing the environment capability principles, helping companies in applying measures benefiting water and energy consumption and waste management.
Environment Director at Damascus countryside governorate Thair Daif underlined the importance of the workshop in ensuring water electricity and internal and external raw materials for realizing an environmental compatibility and sustainable development and meeting the economic needs. The participants highlighted the importance of coordination between industrialists and environment directorates through granting industrial licenses.
