MUSCAT -- Leading the way in setting up its two integrated tourism projects in Oman, Muriya Tourism Development remains committed to completing construction of sold units in Phase I by 2011 for which work is going on in full swing.

Muriya has taken a step further in its progress in 'Jebel Sifah' by organising the first site visit for a few customers who had purchased properties in Phase I.

The customers who reached the site after a 45-minute drive from Muscat, were taken on a tour of the site by Muriya's Director for Customer Relations & Sales Operation, Hani Macki, and the site engineer who explained the various stages of construction in both villas and the destination facilities.

"I was quite excited to see the progress of construction of my villa that has already reached the first floor. It was also very impressive to know that Muriya had its own batching plant on the site that produces 120 cubic metres of concrete per hour," said one of the enthusiastic customers.

The customers were also taken to the marina where they saw the vast excavation that had been completed for the inland marina basin, which is expected to host up to 200 berths and mega yachts.

"With the construction on our sites progressing at a steady rate, we are sure of keeping our promise on delivering not only the real estate properties, but also other development works that will strive to promote Oman as a tourism destination," assured Cyril Piaia, CEO.

In Jebel Sifah, the villas and apartments sold in Phase I will be completed and ready for being handed over in 2011. The foundation, and works on beams and steel reinforcement are already in place for several villas. The Phase I will have 69 villas, 159 marina apartments, an 18-hole PGA golf course, a marina and marina town, four 5-five star hotels and two marina boutique hotels. Established in March 2006, Muriya Tourism Development Company is a joint venture between Egypt's renowned Orascom Hotels & Development with 70 per cent stake, and the Omani government, represented by 'Omran' with 30 per cent stake. Muriya is investing in four major projects, namely Salalah Beach, Jebel Sifah, a city complex in Muscat and a boutique hotel on Al Sodah Island.
