Ajman, June 13th, 2011 (WAM) -- A delegation from Wolverhampton University in the United Kingdom recently visited Ajman University of Science& Technology to explore cooperation opportunities between the two Universities.
The delegation comprised of Prof. Ian Oakes, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research & Enterprise and Jo Gittens, Director of International Affairs, was received by Thamer Salman, AUST Vice-President for Administrative & Financial Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Ankit, Vice-President for External Relations & Cultural Affairs, Dr. Basheer Shehadah, Vice-President for Follow-up & Development Affairs, as well as AUST college deans. Thamer Salman welcomed the delegation and stated: "AUST in its pursuit of excellence, is willing to establish strong cooperation with world-class universities such as Wolverhampton University whose reputation exceeds the boarders of the UK."The delegates were briefly introduced to AUST history, mission and its three-fold vision of education, information and investment. Prof. Ian Oakes, on his side, briefed AUST executives about the British university, noting: " Parameters of AUST in terms of education and research are very much similar to those of Wolverhampton University."At the end of the meeting, Thamer Salman called for exchanging visits and maintaining channels of communication open in order to further enhance cooperation.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2011.
