DOHA - Microsoft Gulf yesterday announced the launch of its next generation of infrastructure and application platform products, including Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 in Qatar.
The launch event at the Four Seasons hotel, that is part of the company's six-city roadshow was attended by over 300 technology professionals, developers and partners. Windows Server 2008 is Microsoft's most advanced server operating system till date and is built with enhanced virtualisation capabilities.
The system is designed to increase the reliability and flexibility of an organisation's server infrastructure while helping save time, reduce costs and provide a solid, dependable foundation for business.
Visual Studio 2008 delivers on Microsoft's vision of enabling developers and development teams to rapidly create connected applications with compelling user experiences for Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office system, mobile devices and the web.
Speakers at the event also focused on SQL Server 2008 and its business intelligence reporting tools that can be used in conjunction with a range of Microsoft products to build interactive, real-time interfaces.
SQL Server 2008 provides a trusted, productive, and intelligent data platform that enables organisations to run the most demanding mission critical applications while reducing time and cost of development.
Technology professionals and developers around the world are already using Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and test versions of SQL Server 2008 to implement more secure platforms and Web applications while reducing costs and speeding development.
