BEIRUT: While its unlikely to fare well for Mexico, Tuesdays 10 p.m. match between the tricolors and Brazil will certainly be a win for venues putting out big screens.
Brazil, one of Lebanons favored teams, will draw out droves of football fans to pubs and pop-up stadiums. But if youre looking to escape the football hordes Tuesday or any other day think about looking outside Beirut, where venues offer a party with a little more elbow room.
A number of beachside spots are giving spectators a more aquatic view of the game by keeping open pools and hot tubs. Here are a few of those, plus some more traditional bar-style venues outside the hubbub of the capital.
