Bid to support skills, talent in Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY: Wataniya Telecom aims to support skills, talent and creativity in the Kuwaiti society. It believes that the investment in the development of young people and their talents allows for a better future and a more beautiful Kuwait. "Nuqat" Creative Conference opened last Thursday, the 7th of November, in presence of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of Health Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and the Under Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah.

The conference is taking place at the Americani Cultural Centre under the management of Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah and under the platinum sponsorship of "Wataniya Telecom" with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and will continue until the 12th of Nov 2013. "Nuqat" is a platform that connects and educates creative professionals in the Middle East. This year, the conference wants to challenge and test cultural changes and explore the consequences by bringing artists and designers from around the Arab world together. This direction was chosen mainly because the Arab culture is experiencing radical changes every day that can be observed and measured as well as conventional norms that are being challenged and questioned, therefore, it was decided that this year's topic would be "Executing Culture Shock."
"Wataniya Telecom" and the organizing committee of "Nuqat" believe that creativity, cooperation and innovation are the ideal means to convert these changes and challenges into effective and productive factors to improve our contemporary society. More than 20 renowned artists and designers who are leaders in creative fields such as architecture, interior design, graphic design, fashion, jewelry design, film-making, photography and advertising will be lecturing in workshops in the conference. Lecturers will continue to discuss the changes and challenges of civilization through their experiences by their own art designs reflecting social awareness and cultural diversity.
Creativity
The conference presents 22 lectures on topics related to the main message of the event and 9 workshops in various fields of creativity aimed at generating positive interactions towards cultural change and thus reach constructive solutions. Through joining this conference, "Wataniya Telecom" aims for the development of Kuwaiti society by emphasizing on creativity and invention. It also wants to find the positive in our changing and challenging civilization through the development of youth and their talents and skills in order to create a more beautiful Kuwait.
