'Recycle your old mobile for a chance to win prizes'
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: Wataniya Telecom launched its campaign 'Recycle your old Mobile for a Greener Tomorrow'. Wataniya Telecom is encouraging customers in Kuwait to recycle their old and unwanted mobile phones after the firm emphasized the need for a greener environment. The event which took place on Sunday, at the Holiday Inn, Downtown was attended by Stuart Fleming, CEO of Enviroserve the main cooperate with Wataniya Telecom in the aim for effective disposal and recycling of electronic scrap collected from its premises. The event was also attended by Scott Gegenheimer, Director General Manager & CEO of Wataniya Telecom and Fuad Al-Ablani, Director Deputy General Manager. "This recycling program comes as part of our efforts to fulfill our corporate environmental responsibility on which we place significant importance. It is also in line with the company's drive to introduce, monitor and develop green initiatives and environmental issues of relevance to the country," stated Mr Al-Ablani.
"While the advanced technological environment we offer is a unique one, it is equally important that we are proactive about green initiatives to ensure future generations enjoy the tech-innovations in a clean and healthy environment," added Mr Gegenheimer. Mr Fleming also emphasized his pleasure to work with one of the leading company's in the mobile market. "Wataniya has shown outstanding commitment to this recycling initiative. We tend to work with companies that focus more and more on environment-related activities and raise awareness on green issues, through waste management."
Consumers can now drop their old and unwanted devices, chargers and mobile accessories in the recycling boxes available at all Wataniya Telecom branches all over Kuwait. Every person that recycles his mobile will enter the draw and will win one of the many prizes that the company is offering. Any individual that recycles at Wataniya Telecom will be rewarded for his efforts to establish a greener tomorrow. "If each person globally owning mobiles brought back just one unused device, tones of raw materials can be saved and greenhouse gases reduced. By working together, small individual actions could add up to make a big difference," added Mr Fleming.
