On a growth path, Enapco has evolved into a complete electro-mechanical contracting company, providing a wide range of engineering services.
Based in Abu Dhabi, Enapco has been consistently following the progress chart that it has mapped out for itself. A complete electro-mechanical contracting company, it provides a range of engineering services in segments such as MEP works, airport engineering, maintenance and installation of electrical works, maintenance and installation of air-conditioning works, plumbing works, fire protection, security systems, low voltage and air gas field. These services are mainly for residential, commercial public, private and industrial construction.
"Many positive things have been happening at Enapco, since last year. We have been on a growth and opportunity path. We have experienced the transition of our services from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to Dubai and Doha. This has created an opportunity for the Enapco team. They responded to the challenge by improving response and expanding services," says Qusai Mahmood, General Manager, Enapco.
The company has been continuously innovating in its field of operation, and has acquired capabilities to offer consistent quality to all its customers. "At Enapco, we have done an excellent job of fine-tuning the special projects team and growing the value engineering business, as well as continuing our success in our traditional electro-mechanical services. Our realigned operations provide our customers greater efficiency and value. All of this has been accomplished in spite of the fact that Enapco team have been spending most of their time travelling, working with other companies, and also working on new acquisitions to grow the electro-mechanical service business for Enapco," says Mahmood.

Human resource development
Human resource is the backbone of the company and there are 250 people working in the UAE alone! Qualified personnel with a wide range of experience in their respective fields, meet the growing demand in the construction field.
Good communication, trust and performance are the values that build a company and its diverse portfolio. In order to upgrade the growing need as per the technological advancement, Enapco always refreshes its staff, both administrative and technical, with new courses and trainings. Its skilled technicians are trained to produce guaranteed work and friendly working conditions. The company's administrative staff has undergone management courses and the staff is encouraged to take new courses and training according to work requirements. Its technical team is certified by local authorities in the UAE.
Industry problems
There are various problems that plague the industry. Bureaucratic delays in payments and settlement of projects is a major problem. "In one instance it has taken us nine months to receive the first payment from the local government department," laments Mahmood.
Moreover, suppliers' monopoly has a spiraling effect on the project cost. Allowing contractors to import directly and specifying alternate materials would be a step in the right direction.
There is a lack of coordinated growth between the fast paced construction industry and related government laws. Legal issues regarding MEP contracts are almost always referred to experts as there is a lack of technical information on the subject.
Projects
Enapco has worked closely with UAE's most reputed building owners, architects, engineers and general contractors. Its trademark logo can be found inside many well-known buildings in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimeh, Al Ruwais, Al Dhaid, Doha (Qatar) and Mari (Turkmenistan).
Some salient projects are Baniyas Co-op at Shahama; Baniyas Bus Station; schools at RAK and Fujairah; runway lighting for Mari Airport, Turkmenistan; 28 villas at AD; and The Provider at Marina Dubai, among others.
Outlook
"As I look to the future, the development of the electro mechanical business in UAE and GCC is a high priority," asserts Mahmood. "Working with our newly opened branches will be in a unique position to grow our traditional business, as well as provide additional services to our customers."
In a rapidly expanding and continuously evolving construction industry in the UAE and GCC, the company is in an ideal position to lead into the future.
