TUNIS - The Administrative Board of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) announced, on Monday, separation of the employers' organisation from the Constitutional Democratic Rally (RCD) or any other political party.

UTICA's Administrative Board said in a communiqué that it has also decided to delay to next February 1 the National Council's meeting and entrust a co-ordination and management committee with UTICA's current affairs.

The meeting elected Mr. Mohamed Ben Sedrine as General Co-ordinator and Mr. Ali Slama and Mrs. Zohra Idriss as Deputy Co-ordinators.

Its members argued that uncertainties marking the current economic situation risk to reduce the flow of foreign direct investments and job creation. They emphasised the need to restore stability and security so that activities resume their normal pace.
