The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bahrain will organise a workshop on microprocessors and applications on March 19. The four-day workshop will focus on the measurements of the industrial processes. "The mircoprocessors measure different aspects of the industrial processes such as: pressure, heat, the flow of gasses, and the level of liquids," the Chairman of the Chemical Engineering Department, Dr Nadir Al Bastaki, said.

"We expect to display the measurements electronically by specialised technicians. Yokogawa Corporation Middle East will display its latest microprocessor technology," he said, adding that the company instals microprocessors and applications, especially in oil companies. More than 15 participants from various corporations and ministries are expected.

Meanwhile, the Career Counselling Office at the university organised a number of workshops to train students for Careers Day 7 to be held next month. The workshop which was held at the College of Information Technology was conducted by the training specialist at MTC Vodafone, Yasser Al Salman, who talked about his experience at the company, stressing the importance of preparation for the career day event. He explained the procedures for submitting applications online.
