Cairo – Uber announced the launch of its intercity bus service in Egypt with roundtrip routes between Cairo and Alexandria.

The most populous Arab nation is selected once again by the ride-hailing company for the debut launch of a new service globally, according to a statement on Sunday.

“Egypt is an innovation hub and a fantastic environment for testing new products,” Ahmed Khalil, general manager of Uber Egypt, noted.

“By leveraging Uber’s technology, the new intercity service will introduce a convenient setting to move users between governorates,” Khalil added.

The bus intercity service operates seven days a week with eight journeys per day.
