Abu Dhabi, Sept. 18th, 2006 (WAM)--Surfers of the UAEInteract, the official website of the state, can now have a directeasy access to the huge data resources available in the newsarchives, thanks to the revamp process it has recently undergone.

Some technical modifications have been made to the ExternalInformation Department-run website, including a new search andbrowse bar at the left side of the home page that will allowdirect access to the news achieves.

According to the website managers, a visitor may pass mouseover headlines at the left side-frame and view various sub-titlesthat will take him to categorized sections in the news archives.

The upgrading process, managers say, will make the websitemuch modern, friendly-used and more lucrative to millions ofvisitors.

Recent statistics show that North America has taken the lion'sshare in number of surfers to the website registering 43.5 percent of visits, followed by Europe with 27.7 per cent and Asiawith 22.6 per cent.

Most of the visitors used the Google search engine, whichreferred 19,629 visits, followed by Yahoo with 3,674 and MSNwith 538 visits.

The figures further reveal that the UAE Year Book play a keyrole in providing surfers with much-needed information aboutvarious activities and sectors in the country.
