ABU DHAI, Dec. 18th, 2008: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is participating at the current global seminar on languages currently being held in New York to discuss, among other issues, the diversity of languages in the age of globalization.

The UAE is being represented to the "Languages Matter: Linguistics Diversity, Globalization and Development" by a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) led by Dr. Ali Bin Tamim, Director General of KALIMA, who said ADACH is keenly working on introducing and promoting the local culture on the global stage.

KALIMA is a translation project launched by Abu the Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) and will be introduced at the event which has opened at UN Headquarters in New York on Wednesday, December 17th.

The 2-day seminar is being jointly organized by the Department of Public Information and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It marks the close of the 2008 International Year of Languages.
