Abu Dhabi, 18th May 2010 (WAM) -- Dr. Sheikh Haza bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan opened today an exhibition on the civilisational heritage of the UAE history at the Zayed Centre for Studies and Research of the Emirates Heritage Club (EHC) to mark the International Museum Day held this year under the theme ''Museums for social harmony''.

Being held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President's Representative and Chairman of EHC, the three month event is organised by the EHC in conjunction with the UN Office in Abu Dhabi, and UNESCO Regional Office in Doha (Qatar).

The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Khaled bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a number of Arab and foreign diplomats, senior officials and headsof museums departments, archeologists, historians and researchers.

The exhibition features a collection of antiquities from the stone age up to the Islamic era. It includes a pavilion of the late Sheikh Zayed showcasingthe orders, medals and appreciations certificates the UAE late leader has gained in additional to his personal belongings.
