Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) and Logstor, the world's biggest maker of preinsulated pipes, agreed to set up the largest factory making those products in the UAE.

Dubai-based Empower will hold 51 per cent in a joint venture, to be called Empower Logstor, with its Denmark-based partner, Logstor owning the rest. It will start operating next year.

Empower is investing $25 million (Dh92m) in the venture, which will help meet its own and other companies' demand for pipes, Empower Chairman Saeed Al Tayer said. Empower is a joint venture between Dewa and Dubai Technology & Media Free Zone.
