DUBAI -- Creative Technology Ltd., a popular brand in digital entertainment products, yesterday said at Gitex that it would be setting up its regional subsidary in Jebel Ali to serve the market more efficiently.

Leonard Yap, associate manager, marketing, Creative, said the subsiary office would also enable the company to enahcne its support to distributors while better positioning it to understand the market.

At Gitex, Creative announced two major breakthroughs  in audio technology - Xtreme Fidelity and the  Creative X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio processor  said to be  24 times more powerful than its predecessor. The combination provides dramatic improvements  to the recording and playback of MP3 music, accelerates and improves PC game play, enhances  listening experiences for movies, and improves the capabilities, performance and quality of audio  creation.

Yap said Xtreme Fidelity sets a new standard for audio by supporting a combination of 24-bit quality and audio clarity.

Another product launched at Gitex was the Zen Visio MP3 player which comes with a 3.7-inch SharpPix high-resolution 640x480 262,144-color screen for music video playback, as well as photo viewing.  The player supports the Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) standard and Creative will be working with various partners to provide music video download services for users in the near future.

Creative has has also on display  the new Creative DiVi CAM 428, an all-in-one mini digital camcorder featuring key functions demanded by most users, including video recorder, digital camera, voice recorder and MP3 player.

The 4-megapixel DiVi CAM 428 targets a relatively new market segment - consumers who have always wanted to own a decent video camera but are held back by the relatively high prices.  This group includes image-conscious students, young executives and parents looking for a camcorder that is compact and stylish, and comes with user-friendly interface and intuitive controls.  With a price that is only a fraction of regular video cameras, the DiVi CAM 428 presents an affordable option that fits the budget of most families looking to record good quality video and takes great pictures at the same time.
