Abu Dhabi 22 Feb. 2011 (WAM) -- The UAE's Coast Guard's new 15 m fast patrol boat is being displayed at NAVDEX waterfront area.
Designed and built by Al Fattan Ship Industry, the all-composite vessel is powered by three 300 hp Mercury outboard engines and can achieve a maximum speed of 50kts. Armed with a 12.7mm remote weapon station on the cabin roof, the Al Fattan patrol crafts are employed by the UAE Coast Guard to conduct coastal patrol missions, support search and rescue, and to protect the integrity of territorial waters.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2011.
