Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba and Mövenpick Resort Tala Bay were the first two hotels in Jordan to be awarded the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) certification for its food safety management programme. HACCP is a complete, seven-step food safety management system that addresses physical, chemical and biological hazards as a means of prevention, not merely identifying problems after the fact. HACCP is included in the ISO 22000 international standards system, and seeks to provide maximum protection for the food consumer.

"HACCP has become a widely-accepted production control system for the food industry worldwide," according to Peter Hoesli General Manager at Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba. "Both the US Food and Drug Administration and the US Department of Agriculture use HACCP programme as an effective approach to maximise food safety and protect public health," said Hubert Klemenz, the general manager of Mövenpick Resort Tala Bay.
