Two new projects are expected to become operational in Isfahan Steel Mill (ISM) in near future, said deputy industries, mines and trade minister.

Fereydoun Ahmadi said on Saturday that coke-making project of the plant is near completion, adding the second phase of ISM's new power plant is ready for operation, Mehr News Agency reported.

Referring to the role played by metallurgical coke in the production of melted cast iron and steel ingot, he said that regarding the high price of metallurgical coke in the world and domestic requirements to the high consuming product efforts are underway to launch the coke making projects as soon as possible.

He added increasing the working capital of ISM which will help meet the domestic need to steel products has been placed on the ministry's agenda.
