According to Tunisia's Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency (APIA), in charge of promoting private investments and providing supports to farmers and fishermen, investments reached a volume of 382 million dinars in 2009 against 340 million dinars in 2008, marking an increase of 12.6%.
The news was announced during the recent visit of Mr. Mohamed Chokri Ayachi, APIA's CEO to some agricultural projects carried out in Nabeul.
Mr. Ayachi visited the integrated livestock and fruit trees project in Beni Khiar (Cap Bon), two citrus fruit production projects including "Boujrida" grapes production and Korba storage and packaging units.
Mr. Ayachi stressed the facilities that APIA provides for investors and young promoters to set up their projects.
He underscored the need to increase the volume of investment and innovative projects so as to enable Tunisian products to conquer new world markets namely through their participation in international fairs and exhibitions.
Nabeul will host on March the 2 nd edition of the Agriculture Exhibition which will include a seminar on investment promotion in the regions.
